Drum and Bass Arena: A look back into dnb history
Established in 1996, Dnb Arena (breakbeat.co.uk) is one the most popular and longest running Drum and Bass / Jungle music websites on the planet. The Drum and Bass Arena site has reigned supreme since the good old days bringing jungle/dnb audio clips, live broadcasts, and video segments to our desktops, captivating millions of dnb fans across world.
Dnb-Arena: 1996, 1999, Present
It's hard to believe in 1999 they were only averaging near 5,000 visitors each day and now have numbers many times more; and you may know the site now as the yellow version that has existed for some time, but it hasn't always been that way. In the beginnings the site sported plain white pages of mostly text but rapid growth came over the years for dnb arena as they relied solely on their most valuable asset -- solid up-to-date dnb news and music.
A look back in history shows a site that developed massively and quickly following the likes of mainstay dnb labels and artists such as Moving Fusion and AK1200. And not to forget the D&B Arena live tour archives in 2000 and Mampi Swift's epic Clash of the Titans mix. History reveals also a slew of undergound artist mixes by ones like Peshay, Aquasky, and Bassline Smith spanning from the mid-90's to today.
The only thing that probably hasn't changed for dnb-arena is their mission statement as stated in their 1996 version of the website:
This UK Site is here for one reason only, to provide Jungle / Drum 'n' Bass to the Masses. We aim to bring you all the latest info on everything to do with d'n'b...
